Selectmen unanimously appoint interim administrator Purcell

Avon Selectmen appoint interim administrator, approve housing rehabilitation plan. The Board of Selectmen unanimously named James Purcell as Interim Town Administrator following Gregory S. Enos's resignation, with Purcell to work approximately 20 to 25 hours per week for 18 to 20 weeks during the search for a permanent replacement.

The Board also unanimously approved a $30,000 housing rehabilitation services proposal from Capital Strategic Solutions to rehabilitate five units using approximately $200,000 in program income. In preliminary FY 24 budget discussions, Town Administrator Enos presented a target levy limit of $21,658,042 and a revised local receipts estimate of $2,990,000, citing expected increases in staffing, inflation, and health and property insurance costs.
