Selectmen approve $30,500 in budget transfers for library repairs

AVON — Board of Selectmen approves $30,500 in transfers and 16 summer hires. The board redirected $20,000 from insurance funds to address library roof and HVAC repairs at its June 2 meeting, with an additional $1,000 for human resources pre-employment testing and $9,500 for accounting services through year-end. The board authorized 16 new summer positions for Park and Recreation, including Playground Supervisor Michele Goode (Grade 3, Step 3) and Lead Counselor Bryan Fischer (Grade 2, Step 2), plus 14 counselors, and appointed members to 33 board and committee positions for fiscal year 2023.

The board adopted the Remote Participation Policy enabling continued hybrid meetings, pending state extension approval through December 2023.
