Avon School Committee unanimously raises substitute teacher pay to $100-$125 daily. Superintendent Christine Godino recommended the increase from a proposed $75-$100 rate, citing surrounding district pay that ranges from $90-$130 daily. Member Claudia Lucia's amended motion passed with support from all five committee members.
The district also received a $170,989 grant for ventilation and air quality improvements and reported the South Shore Early College Consortium received $100,000 in startup funding for developing early college experiences for students.
