DocumentCenter · Meeting of September 21, 2022

Avon School Committee unanimously approves dress code amendment allowing head coverings. The revision, presented by Principal Shawn Desmond and endorsed by all five committee members, permits head coverings worn for hair protection and religious or cultural purposes while maintaining restrictions on hats and hoods for safety reasons. The committee also unanimously approved an addendum to Superintendent Christine Godino's contract and waived second reading to approve four enrollment and admissions policies addressing military children, foster care, and homeless student protections.
