Fire station project achieves substantial completion; committee approves $468K invoices

AVON — Designer Selection Committee approves $468K in fire station project invoices. The committee unanimously approved approximately $468,000 in contractor and vendor payments as the renovation reached substantial completion on August 3, including $391,899.65 in project invoices, $38,524.68 for W.B. Mason furniture, a $1,898.41 invoice for extractor rewiring, and authorization to release $11,000 to MAK Electric.
Chair Tracy Self's committee also approved a $660 plumbing credit and $775 toward unsuitable soils work. Ongoing concerns include non-functioning ceiling sensors, apparatus bay lighting issues, inadequate HVAC controls, and landscaping deficiencies.
