Finance Committee endorses warrant articles for May town meeting

DocumentCenter · Meeting of April 1, 2021

Avon Finance Committee recommends warrant articles for May town meeting. The committee voted to recommend 24 of 29 articles at an April 1 remote meeting led by Chairman Daniel Norian. Articles 22 and 23 drew the strongest debate, approved 3-2 with Shannon Coffey abstaining, over budget concerns raised by Members Judith Leggett and Richard Jordan.

Article 25 passed 5-1 with Jordan dissenting, citing his preference for school regionalization to reduce costs. The committee withheld recommendation on Article 33, an OPEB Trust matter, seeking clarification at town meeting.
