Avon Finance Committee approves fiscal 2027 budget articles for the annual town meeting. The committee unanimously recommended Articles 4, 5, 6, 7, and 8 as written, including a $100,000 transfer for unaccepted streets with sidewalk improvements at the South Street intersection near DW Field and a $50,000 water administration assessment and rate study. Suzzette Waters, Chair, presided over discussion of departmental budget increases, which were largely minimal, though concerns emerged about rising costs at Blue Hills and other educational facilities.
The committee deferred decisions on regionalization of services and school construction to future meetings.
