AVON — Finance Committee holds mock town meeting ahead of May 5 warrant vote. Suzzette Waters, Chair, presided as committee members reviewed articles with Town Administrator Jonathan Beder and residents, fielding questions on Article 9's $1,830,916 water main replacement plan, Article 15's $40,000 police motorcycle purchase, and Article 21, a citizen petition for an additional liquor license. Residents pressed on police motorcycle necessity and payroll increase data.
The committee clarified that Avon's $258,000 in annual Chapter 90 state road funding covers only accepted streets, not private roads.
