Council on Aging hires head cook, names van driver successor

Avon Council on Aging hires head cook, transitions driver position. Kellyann Cole, who volunteered in October and remained after the position went unfilled, was formally hired as head cook; the board moved to recommend her interim compensation to the Board of Selectmen. Van driver Woody Salter retires at year's end, with Tony Famolare succeeding him.
The Council will participate in a house number pilot program for seniors needing addresses and will schedule a meeting for those interested in forming a Friends group. An incident at a recent lunch prompted director Carthas to file a report.
