DocumentCenter · Meeting of April 21, 2022
Avon Selectmen hear FY2023 budget ahead of May Town Meeting. Town Administrator Gregory S. Enos presented updated revenue and expense figures covering all 23 warrant articles for the May 3 annual meeting, which prompted the board to vote unanimously to lower the Town Meeting quorum to 40 registered voters following concerns about low attendance.
Chairman Steven P. Rose voiced reservations about the quorum reduction on a multi-million-dollar budget. In additional business, the board approved $11,000 in charitable gifts for the Council on Aging from the Howard Trust Foundation and Tufts Health Plan Foundation, unanimously appointed Stephen Stenstrom as a Police Officer, and doubled the private detail cruiser rate to $20 per hour due to rising vehicle costs.
The board also authorized hiring special counsel for a 40B affordable housing project off Page Street.
