Board of Health approves Waste Management trash contract through 2024

AVON — Board of Health approves three-year Waste Management trash contract. The Avon Board of Health unanimously approved Waste Management as the town's trash hauler, with Board Member Robert Ogilvie making the motion and Clerk Ralph Jensen seconding the agreement. The board also approved the Avon Baptist Church Flea Market for this year under COVID-19 protocols limiting attendance to 150 people and authorized hiring ALSCO Food check for food establishment inspections in Avon.

Health Agent Kathleen Waldron reported the town continues as a yellow community with 23 confirmed COVID-19 cases recorded in the prior two weeks.
