Avon Board of Health approves four septic system upgrades and addresses tobacco violations. All four septic replacements were unanimously approved, including three local upgrades for 15 Overlook Road with reduced setbacks from foundation walls (20 feet to 6 feet) and wetlands (50 feet to 33 feet). The board voted unanimously to fine Avon Gas and Service $2,000 and suspend its tobacco permit seven days after a second violation within one year, with warning of $5,000 fine and 30-day suspension for a third violation within 36 months.
