Avon Park Commission Votes to Hire Winter Counselors, Sets Summer Dates

Avon Park and Recreation Commission hires three winter counselors. Vice Chairperson Dan Hart, Commissioner Ben Chapman, and Commissioner Stephen McCarthy voted unanimously, with Program Director Jennifer Mayo present, to approve Nicole Pepe, Joseph Fischer, and Michele Goode for the winter program at the same pay rate as the fall program. The Early Childhood Playground construction is complete with all fixtures installed, and the board is researching grants for further playground improvements.
Summer program dates have been set for July 6 through August 14, 2020.
