Avon Cultural Council approves $4,613 in education grants

Avon Cultural Council approves entire annual allotment of $4,613 in education grants. The council reviewed 18 applications, nine from Avon groups and nine from out-of-town organizations, and approved funding for the Avon Civic Association ($518) and Butler Elementary School ($4,095) for grade-level field trips to museums, aquariums, and historic sites. All out-of-town applications were denied.
Approved applicants will be notified after a 10-day waiting period for reconsideration requests.
