Avon School Committee grants superintendent pandemic emergency powers

AVON — The Avon School Committee unanimously granted Superintendent Christine Godino pandemic emergency policy authority. Four of five members were present: Chair Tracy Sheehan, Vice-Chair Anne Hagberg, Paul Chapman, and Maria Piccirilli, with Secretary Sharon Marble absent. The Committee advanced the first reading of amended Policy ACAB on anti-discrimination and harassment.
Godino reported coordination with the Avon Police Department and Avon Education Association on reopening procedures, with state guidance on sports still pending.
