Select Board approves $172,750 contract for well and pump replacement project.

Select Board · Meeting of March 5, 2026

Avon Select Board awards $172,750 well replacement contract as snowstorms drain emergency funds. The Board approved a bid from Weston & Sampson to redevelop a Department of Public Works well and replace a pump at Connolly, exhausting a $250,000 state-granted budget with a June 30 deadline, according to minutes from the March 5 meeting. DPW Director Brian Martin reported the February blizzard cost roughly $70,000; the Board then authorized an additional $125,000 for Snow & Ice deficit spending to cover the shortfall and fund continued operations.

Chair Jason L. Suzor, Sr. was authorized to sign the MassWorks Sewer Grant contract for the Avon Industrial Park, a $500,000 state award for design and permitting services running through June 2027.
