School Committee approves $14M-plus FY2027 budget with School Choice funds

Avon School Committee approves $14.1M operating budget for FY2027. The vote was unanimous, with $1.2 million applied from School Choice revenue, reducing the request to the Town of Avon to $12,870,933, according to the meeting minutes. The Committee also unanimously approved the 2026-2027 school year calendar and a Music Department field trip to Canobie Lake Park.

Superintendent Lori Jodoin reported attending the Early College Symposium at Quincy College and observing hands-on physics and English instruction; an athletic survey of 69 students showed soccer and basketball as most popular, with interest in adding track, e-sports, hockey, golf, and lacrosse through co-op arrangements.
