Avon School Committee approves amended calendars

Avon School Committee approves amended calendars, adds Juneteenth, and authorizes budget transfers. Vice-Chair Anne Hagberg called the remote meeting to order; the committee unanimously approved amendments to add Juneteenth to the 2021-2022 calendar and unanimously approved the 2022-2023 academic calendar. The committee approved line-item budget transfers on a 3-1-1 vote, with one member abstaining.
Secretary Sharon Marble announced she will not seek re-election, and Superintendent Christine Godino reported the district is participating in Attorney General Maura Healy's initiative to address hate and bias in school athletics.
